EPAL achieves a major breakthrough in the battle against EPAL Euro pallet counterfeiters in Ukraine
The European Pallet Association has made a major breakthrough in the battle against counterfeiters of EPAL Euro pallets. Thanks to the extensive teamwork of the EPAL representation in Ukraine and the independent inspection company Bureau Veritas, it has been possible to identify a producer of illegal EPAL pallets. In a joint campaign with the local police force, Bureau Veritas and Ukrainian lawyers, EPAL located and seized large quantities of counterfeit EPAL Euro pallets, as well as counterfeit branding plates. The counterfeiter will face criminal prosecution for the commercial infringement of trademark laws. Read more…

EPAL-licensed Euro pallets are the world’s No. 1 inspected load carrier
With an increase of almost 11%, the 2015 production figures of EPAL pallets have exceeded all expectations. A total of 73.6 million EPAL Euro pallets were produced around the globe in 2015. This is a record result, up 10.9% in comparison to the previous year. At 23.9 million units, the 2015 repair figures were slightly but clearly above those of the previous year (2014: 22.4 million). By becoming a member of Aktionskreis gegen Produkt- und Markenpiraterie e.V. (APM - Germany’s anti-piracy association), the European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) has taken a further step in the fight against the distribution and use of counterfeit EPAL pallets. The APM is a joint initiative of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), the Federal Association of German Industry (BDI) and the German Trademark Association. The objective of the APM is to promote the exchange of experience among companies and between the economy and politicians, inform consumers and create a legal framework that allows the effective use of commercial property rights. Foundation of the the EPAL Czech and Slovak National Commitee
Four years after the first official appearance of the EPAL representatives in the Czech Republic at the gathering with Czech pallet producers and repairers in Hustopeče, on 20/08/2015, Czech and Slovak EPAL licensees met in Prague to found the Czech and Slovak National Committee. EPAL warns against counterfeit EPAL Euro pallets from Ukraine
The European Pallet Association e.V. is warning against counterfeit EPAL Euro pallets from Ukraine, which have been in circulation on the market since the beginning of 2015.
These are counterfeit branded pallets that are not permitted to be ordered, imported, stored or sold.
The European Pallet Association e.V. is working intensively to take action against the inferior quality counterfeits and has already alerted the customs authorities at the external borders of Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries.
EPAL Euro pallets should ONLY be ordered from EPAL-licensed Ukrainian companies.

If you’re capable of answering all of these questions, you’re either an EPAL pallet producer or repairer yourself, or you’ve been on a training course at the EPAL Academy and are in possession of a “Euro Pallet Expert” certificate. Operation against counterfeit EPAL Euro pallets on the Ukrainian/Slovakian border
More than 1,000 counterfeit EPAL Euro pallets have been seized during a large-scale inspection at the Ukrainian/Slovakian border. The operation was performed as a joint operation between the European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL), independent inspection company Bureau Veritas and the Slovakian customs authorities at the Uzhgrog / Vyšné Nemecké border crossing. The upward trend continues: 7, 25% increase in production of EPAL pallets in Q1 2015
Düsseldorf, 15th June 2015 – EPAL Euro pallets’ significant upward trend, which had already begun last year with an increase of 3% in the production figures, is continuing. In the first quarter of 2015, 7, 25% more EPAL pallets were produced than in the equivalent period in 2014. That’s 1.15 million more new EPAL Euro pallets than in the first quarter of 2014. The number of licensees also increased considerably in the first quarter of 2015: From 1,478 in the first quarter of 2014 to 1,520 in 2015. Both developments reflect the high level of acceptance that EPAL Euro pallets have in the market. Martin Leibrandt, CEO of the European Pallet Association e.V., said of the figures for the current quarter: “I’m very pleased with this positive development, and I assume that the positive trend will continue in the coming quarters.” more…

2nd Pallet Symposium of the European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) in Hungary
Budapest / Düsseldorf, 3rd June 2015 – As part of the 2nd EPAL Pallet Symposium held in the Budapest Marriot Hotel, a total of 50 experts discussed the current and future challenges of the pallet market in Hungary, as well as innovations such as RFID technology. Apart from providing information, the aim of the symposium was to strengthen the presence of EPAL Euro pallets and establish partnerships in Hungary. EPAL launches a new half pallet on the market
Düsseldorf, 13th October 2014 – The European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) has introduced a new EPAL half pallet with three skid boards. The independently quality assured 800 x 600 mm EPAL half pallet has been developed under the remit of being more robust and longer lasting than the current “Düsseldorfer” half pallet used on the market. The new EPAL half pallet came into being as the result of active discussions with trade and industry users and has been field tested. 30 million new EPAL/EPAL Euro pallets produced since August
The European Pallet Association e. V. (EPAL) has recorded production of the 30-millionth Euro pallet with the EPAL logo on four corner blocks. The pallets produced throughout Europe exclusively under the EPAL licence have been coming off the line since the 1st August 2013. Robert Holliger, president of EPAL, presented these results on Saturday 1st February 2014 at the EUROBLOCK customer forum in Freising, organised by EUROBLOCK Verpackungsholz GmbH. On 4th June 2013, the European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) calls a meeting for the most important representatives from trade, industry, logistics and railways on the occasion of the EURO PALLET CONFERENCE in Munich.
