Since July 2007 the European Pallet Association (EPAL) is represented also in Australia. Fisher´s (Latrobe Valley) Pty. Ltd. in Morwell/Victoria is the first pallet company in Australia that has been granted a licence for the production of Europallets. To grant licences for the production and repair of Europallets in Oceania is part of EPAL's strategy to globally promote the Europallet and its other new pallet types and to globally expand the free Europallet exchange system that works very well in Europe in the next years. In the future all Europallets produced in Australia shall be marked with the sign DB (in emblem), the country code AUS, the manufacturer's licence code and the EPAL control staple on the central block. Pallets submitted to an IPPC treatment shall be marked with the ISPM 15 branding also on the central block. The mark EPAL (in oval) is to be placed on the left block while the mark EUR (in oval) is placed on the right. The inspection company SGS will be in charge of performing a quality control of all Europallets produced and repaired in Australia.
