- The position of the 78 nails to use is prescribed to guarantee the diagonal rigidity of the pallet.
- The nailing pattern must be uniform and the nails must be spaced as far apart as possible in compliance with the standard of quality (UIC 435-2).
- All nails used for the assembly of EPAL/EUR-pallets have a head marking consisting of two letters.
- Only EPAL-licensed nails tested by a neutral test institute shall be used for the assembly of EPAL/EUR-pallets.
