PPWR Declaration of Conformity
EPAL pallets meet the requirements for packaging according to Art. 5–12 of the PPWR and are therefore PPWR-compliant. This is confirmed by the EU declarations of conformity pursuant to Art. 39 of the PPWR for EPAL pallets, which you can view and download here.
When delivering goods on EPAL pallets, users of EPAL pallets can pass on the EU declarations of conformity in accordance with Article 39 of the PPWR for EPAL pallets to their customers in order to demonstrate the PPWR compliance of the EPAL pallets. Even simpler: copy the EPAL QR code and print it on the delivery documents. This gives customers direct access to the EU declarations of conformity in accordance with Article 39 of the PPWR for EPAL pallets.
The EPAL Terms of Use (see below) apply to the use of the EU declarations of conformity in accordance with Article 39 of the PPWR for EPAL pallets and the QR code.
EPAL pallets are reusable pallets that are reused within the open EPAL pallet pool. The EPAL pallet pool meets the requirements for open reuse systems without a system operator as set out in Addendum VI, Part A of the PPWR and is therefore a reuse system in accordance with Articles 26, 27 and 29 of the PPWR. By using EPAL pallets and participating in the open EPAL pallet pool, pallet users therefore fulfil the obligations under Articles 26 and 27 of the PPWR and can contribute to achieving the reuse targets applicable to them under Article 29 of the PPWR.

EPAL Terms of Use
Companies that use EPAL pallets for the transport and storage of goods may use the EU declarations of conformity in accordance with Article 39 of the PPWR for EPAL pallets and the EPAL QR code without restriction, for example by passing on the declarations of conformity or the EPAL QR code to customers upon delivery of goods or when exchanging and/or passing on empty EPAL pallets.
Companies that produce or repair pallets are only authorised to use and pass on the EU declarations of conformity in accordance with Article 39 of the PPWR for EPAL pallets and the EPAL QR code if they hold a licence from EPAL.
Pallet dealers and service providers may use the EU declarations of conformity in accordance with Article 39 of the PPWR for EPAL pallets and the EPAL QR code with EPAL’s prior consent. Send requests to: ppwr@epal-pallets.org
